Job well done Devon in explaining what it means to be “you” as “you” avoiding copying others to be better.

I love your honesty in the videos, well done. My partner and I are getting ready to launch a new site, you’ll bust a gut when you see it. I gotta give you credit for making me become specific, when you see it you’ll see how specific and funny it is. Thanks again for all the inspiration.
    Cheers,

    Hey Devon,

Thanks for the tips man. I normally use sunglasses on my head because I always have them to support my hair lol

But I totally get the authenticity point.

I do remember Frank Kern in his early times (there are a few pics around) and he was doing the whole clean haircut, clean face and tie and suit thing (I did that too) but I’m not comfortable at ALL with that, definitely not who I am.

The cool thing about not creating a persona is that if someone likes you, is because your true self and nothing else, great tips buddy.

You always have such great lessons man! Where does all this wisdom come from? I would make videos in a backward hat and Black T-shirt, since that is what I usually wear. I bet people would think I was trying to copy you though. I am still thinking about doing it anyway, though.

Thanks Devon. Awesome material as usual

    Hey Devon,

Excellent tips! Information is everywhere and one topic could have many people teaching it, BUT there can only be one Devon!

The same applies for everyone – You can teach anything like anyone else, but teach it in your own voice/style and be YOU instead of just copying and pasting information from someone else. That is the essential part Devon is sharing here imo.

    Cheers,
    Lester

Devon wearing your hat on backwards IS bad. LOL.
But you’re absolutely right. I look at it this way. How many times have you heard a band and you say “hey man they are ripping off xxxxxxx”. You don’t buy there cd or download there song at itunes right. And you bag them out to whoever will listen as to what a ripoff they are.
The theme doesn’t have to be original, just like rock bands, but if the presentation is original, and good, people will love it.
