Selling Services as an Internet Marketing Strategy

One way to make money from blogging from home that is relatively easy, but isn’t necessarily very intuitive, is to sell either a service of yours or a service that someone else provides.  Below, we will go over a few different ways that you can do this.

Selling Your Service

If you want to sell a service of your own as part of your Internet marketing strategy, such as freelance writing, editing, coding, cooking, or just about anything else, then you should tailor your blog around it.  Use a post or two each week to talk about the service that you provide, and how it has helped other people or what they could do with your service.  Be creative!  You would be surprised in the myriad of ways that your skills might be put to use, and so would your readers.

Alternatively, you can also sell products.  Are you good at knitting?  Can you draw really well?  Then put those skills to use!  Use each post to talk about a specific product, and provide a link to purchase the item at the end.  While you may not generate a tremendous amount of revenue doing this, you may be surprised what people will pay for.

Selling the Service of Someone Else

Although this method of making money blogging is usually best if you already have an established blog with a decent amount of traffic, it can still work really well if you have optimized your blog for search engines.  The basic idea here is that you are taking products or service made by someone else, and selling them on your blog – and then pocketing a piece of the sale money.

The most important thing to keep in mind when trying to make money from a blog in this fashion is that the service needs to be relatively in demand.  While you could create a need for any given service or product, jumping on popular search terms and customizing your service to those is probably a faster and more effective way to make money from your blog.
