4 Reasons You Should Go To Seminars and Network Offline
You’ve worked so hard all week on your business, and now it’s Friday. Time to relax, begin your weekend, and charge up for Monday. But what if you could have your Friday fun and still make huge strides in your business? I’m talking about attending seminars (not workshops.. that’s something different and I’ll talk about another time).
The truth of the matter is that there are seminars being held ALL the time on many different subject matters that would be of interest to you (My personal favorites are Internet Marketing, Personal Development, & Business Development).
In theory going to seminars can only benefit you, but so many say they’re going.. and NEVER go. I understand that things may come up, but if you get lazy about it or figure you’ll go to another one, think about this:
You get to make personal connections. You’re meeting people of like-mind and can not only make business connections but may even develop long lasting friendships (many of my BEST friends are also my best business contacts…and guess where I met them!). Tip: Remember how I spoke about how to make joint ventures? Seminars also provide a GREAT opportunity to meet people you could potentially JV with.
Listening to speakers. Seminars provide an invaluable opportunity to learn from (and interact with) experts, LIVE. You’re able to take notes, and maybe even retain it a little more because you were there while they spoke on their subject. There are no outside distractions. You, the speaker, and your laptop (or notebook).
Developing new ideas or inspirations. After talking to all these people about their successes and failures, you can apply it to your own business and develop your own ideas and new inspirations. During a seminar weekend, you’re TOTALLY immersed in an environment that is completely dedicated to you growing your niche/business. How could this not be a great thing?
Log off your computer. It needs a break and frankly, you do too. There’s a whole ‘nother world out there waiting for you to tackle and let’s face it…isn’t that the REAL focus of you doing your busniess. Going to a seminar is a great break from daily routine. It’s something fun (Hi. I’m fun! Remember me?) and gives you the social interaction you need “offline”.
I host a lot of seminars and events. A recent one I emceed was Keith Wellman and Gary Ambrose’s Gateway to Wealth. I took some video while I was there which my assistant, Suzanne, was awesome enough to edit and put it up on Youtube. This is the kind of people you’ll meet and the experience you could have! See you at the next event!
