TGIF! Even if you work at home you can appreciate a Friday, it is the end of the work week (and I don’t really encourage people working on the weekend, unless you’re attending a seminar or workshop). You need to take breaks sometimes!

Tim Kehoe, who is he? After today, you’ll remember him. He is the creator of Zubbles. The fantastic new product of colored bubbles that do not stain. I say new, but I should tell you that it’s taken Tim 11 years to break the right formula for Zubbles. He’s stained his eyes, his kids, his kitchen, and even the dog. What does this have to do with you? Well…2 Things

#1. It took Tim 11 YEARS to finally achieve his dream! How’s that for consistency! The sad reality is that most entrepreneurs will try something a few weeks or months and then just give up on it! Tim is a PRIME example of CONSISTENT action. There was never any doubt in his mind as to whether or not he would succeed….he worked on his dreams UNTIL he reached his goal. Can you say the same for your efforts?

#2. In order to become successful, Tim had to “break” an actual scientific formula for his own business success. If you told Tim to go back 11 years and start over (knowing what he knows now), don’t you think it would take him WWAAAAYYY less time to reach his goals? There is in fact a “Success Code” to attaining success as a home business entrepreneur…

And I’ve created a CD that will help you “crack the code” for your own home business success!

In order for things to be successful, you have to take action and you have to take action consistently. How many times have you heard me say that?

I think I see what’s missing – you have to start making action a habit. Rather than planning for things, thinking about them, reading about it… you have to set out and do it. You’ll just have to be an action type of person. A go-getter!

It takes 21 days to make a habit. At least that’s what research says. So how about taking consistent action, and not telling yourself it’s forever, but you’ll do it for 21 days. It’s less than a month. You can do that.

So let’s get started!

1. Start applying what you’ve learned. You don’t have to compile all this knowledge before you set out and do something. You have to take what you’ve learned and build experience from it. You’ll never know if you can do something if you don’t try. Stop reading about how to build traffic to your website and start doing what you have learned so far. You may build your own theories from there and find what works best for you. You learn more from experience than reading about someone else’s.

2. Put your ideas into motion. If you came up with some brilliant ideas, jot them down, and start putting them into motion. You’ll be able to adjust the details once the idea comes to life because then you’ll see the failures and successes a lot clearer. But you’ll never know if you don’t try.

3. Set aside time for work and for play. The computer is your work and your play area and you have to start seperating the two because in order to make action a habit, you can’t get sidetracked with fun. Set aside specific times for you to go through your fun websites, and make a good, solid block of time

I’m sure there’s some setbacks to taking immediate action such as money and time, but when you set out to do something and fully intend on completing the task, then you will make it work somehow. You may even see uses for things you haven’t noticed before or you may see the potential in areas that you thought had none before.

In order to build a successful home business, you first have to understand what success means to you.  Often times, the definitions of success has a sliding scale.  I mean, do you consider yourself to be successful when you can pay your bills without struggling, or is success only achieved after you have netted your first million?  If you do not have a clear view of what success means to you, how will you know when you have achieved it?

Since there are so many different ideas of what actually constitutes success, it is hard to get a consensus as to what constitutes a successful business.  Therefore, it is imperative that each home based business entrepreneur goes into their venture with a clear idea of what they perceive as successful outcome.  When you draw up your business plan, make it clear to yourself what your goals are and what you will do to achieve them.  That way, in two years, you will be able to see clearly whether or not you have achieved your idea of success.

Because perception is can be integral to your success, it is important that you perceive yourself as successful.  Anything that you can do boost your perception of your undertaking as a success is only going to add to your motivation to continue succeeding.  Sounds like a catch-22, but it’s not.  It is widely believed that like attracts like.  If you believe you are a success, act like you are a success, and project and image of success, you are more likely to actually attain success.

In fact, some of the most successful home businesses out there are those that are dedicated to helping new home businesses become successful.  Put simply, they are using their ability to project an image of success to motivate others to become successful.  Because if your potential customers see you as successful, that is what you are.

All in all, a positive attitude can take you all the way in the home business world.  With new home businesses popping up by the minute, sometimes the only thing you have to distinguish yourself from the hoard is your attitude and the personality you project.  Since you are selling yourself as much as you are selling anything else when you operate a home business, you need to make sure every contact you make is one more step toward closing the deal.

Like attracts like. Project success and success will come to you.

Beginning your business is no easy task, maintaining it isn’t either, and the last thing you really want to worry about is finances. However, finances and budgeting are vital to having home business success. You should learn how to manage your money and make it work for you instead of you working for it.

There are paid programs like Quickbooks and Quicken, however there are plenty of free programs available on the Internet and just as good as the paid applications. Mint comes highly recommended, free, and quite user-friendly. From what I’ve read, Quicken Online will be dropping their subscription fee pretty soon, but I’m sure they’ll have limited access. There’s also Clear Checkbook and GnuCash. Both of those are free as well.

These programs are only as good as you *really* using them. Once you begin entering your information and money data, then you can set up a budget.  How to Set Up a Budget and Stick To It. Budgeting and being money-wise enables you to have more success for your home based business because you’re not really counting pennies, you’re seeing where your pennies are going and putting it to good use.
